A passion for agriculture: Meet PTx Trimble’s new head of global sales and channel engagement

Agriculture has been in Greg Milstead’s family for over three generations, so he’s no stranger to the dips and swings of the industry, not to mention the bottom-line realities farmers and dealers encounter every day. This foundational legacy is what inspires Milstead as he embarks on a new role as vice president of global sales and channel engagement for PTx Trimble, the new joint venture AGCO and Trimble recently launched.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of something that moves an industry and yet touches everyone on the planet,” says Milstead. “And I’m convinced that this initiative is going to enhance our ability to offer farmers a solid choice which, at the end of the day, will help reduce their risk in what is a very risky business.”

Milstead, who worked with Deere & Co. for nearly 13 years in various roles, including Territory Manager, Dealer Development, Division Manager and then spent 5 years running the overall operations of a six-store dealership. Most recently he has spent over 13 years with AGCO in several director roles, including district director for the Western half of the US and then director of North American distribution. 

In his new role with PTx Trimble, Milstead’s key focus areas will be driving revenue and increasing dealer engagement. His key objectives include:

  • Increase PTx Trimble’s overall footprint

  • Strengthen our channel and enhance our partner relationships with dealers

  • Provide runways of success for our employees

Milstead will continue to be based in Atlanta, GA.
