Setting yourself up for success this fall

Harvest is just around the corner and so are your yearly check-ups on equipment to ensure you're ready to go when the crop is. When preparing for harvest, don’t overlook the most vital technology that keeps you going.

Your display and receiver are the heartbeat of your equipment, reducing downtime and ensuring that the path you drove during the spring is the same path you will follow now. When preparing for the harvest season ahead, you should also consider how corrections accuracy can impact your current guidance setup. Investing in high-accuracy corrections, such as CenterPoint® RTX, can make a real impact in the sub-inch accuracy you have grown to expect from precision ag technology.

Verify that all displays, receivers and connectivity devices have been moved over to the combine(s) or tractors you plan to use this season.

Download the newest software/firmware versions

Have all systems moved to your harvest equipment? Great! Now be sure that you are running the latest version of Precision-IQ and that your TeamViewer QuickSupport application is functioning properly.

With TeamViewer QuickSupport from PTx Trimble, you can expect:

  • Troubleshooting without ever leaving the cab

  • Expert advice from our team without having to wait for a tech to arrive on site

  • Quicker turnaround time, meaning more uptime in the field

If you're looking for resources on performing updates to these features on your display, reach out to your local reseller for supporting documentation. Checking these items ahead of time will ensure the hours you spend in the field are productive and accurate – and that when you need support, it is right at your fingertips.

Configure farm and field information

Now let’s take it one step further. Has your fleet of harvest equipment been configured in your display? If not, now is the perfect opportunity to do so. Inputting tractor, field and farm data ahead of time will save you in the long run, and allows for flexibility in who operates the equipment, leaving you more time to manage other aspects of your operation.

Enable data syncing

You should also confirm that AutoSync has been enabled to sync your guidance lines from the planter to your harvest equipment. This advanced feature from PTx Trimble takes the time and energy out of creating new AB lines every time you enter the field.

Load prescription maps

Working with your agronomist to get your hands on your prescription maps is another important step to consider prior to harvest time. PTx Trimble Ag Software can assist in providing you accurate yield data to import to your agronomist in preparation for fall fertilizer applications.

Conduct pre-harvest tech check

Lastly, schedule some time with your local dealer to perform a pre-harvest technology check. Make our skilled network of dealers your last line of defense against technology-related downtime.

When time is of the essence, these preparation measures can make all the difference. This harvest season, take advantage of the work we do so that you can keep on rolling.
