Food insecurity continues to rise, and kids are paying the price. Today, 73 million children are still in need of school meals around the world. That’s why PTx Trimble is partnering with World Food Program USA to ERASE HUNGER™ by providing 400,000 school meals and take-home rations that help kids grow, learn and lead.

The fight against hunger begins in the dirt, learning how to grow our crops in the most efficient, reliable way to ensure we can meet the demands of our growing population. We’re proud to support farmers in this effort, but understand that the fight does not stop there. The work of World Food Program USA’s ERASE HUNGER™ Campaign allows these crops an entry into the mouths that need them most by providing meals to support kids’ nutritional needs while boosting local economies.
School meals are one of the most important social safety nets, and the United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest provider, working in 61 countries to reach over 21 million children. Their holistic school meals program strengthens educational opportunities, provides critical nutritional support, promotes gender equality and supports small-scale farmers.
Those farmers play a crucial role in school meal programs, as the food is often sourced from local, small-scale farmers through a program known as Homegrown School Feeding. Climate-smart school meal programs could also be part of the vanguard of country efforts to become more climate resilient, by diversifying diets, aligning agriculture and procurement to local food sovereignty, and by rethinking energy and farming practices. At PTx Trimble, we want to be a partner in ensuring food security through these efforts by supporting the farmer with precision ag technology that boosts their yields and increases food availability.
